Mental Health and Stress

Everyone will experience stress at some point in their lives. Stress can be defined as the body’s reaction to an adverse situation. Women deal with stressors such as work, taking care of the household, dealing with difficult people on the job, and so on and so forth. In addition, stress can come from a host of different situations such as relationships we have with others, the death of loved ones, being a caretaker, meeting deadlines at work, or just worrying about the future. Stress can cause physical pains in our bodies, irritability, decreased production in our work, and lack of energy. Stress can also cause the hormone cortisol, which is responsible for the extra weight we may gain while going through stressful events.

Stress Management

How can we manage our stress ladies? Well, first we must identify the thing that’s stressing us out! Whether it’s the unruly kids, the unappreciative boyfriend, or the difficult boss we have to see every day. We must start taking control and manage our stress. Did you know that exercise can be a good stress buster? Exercising can help release those feel-good hormones such as dopamine. Deep breathing exercises is another way to help manage stress. Deep breathing can help regulate the nervous system and promote overall well-being. Get support from family or trusted friends.
